About Uncle Vait's Pizza

Stumbling upon hidden culinary gems is always delightful, and Uncle Vait's Pizza in Lexington, IL, is indeed one of those places that surprise in the most delightful of ways. Nestled on 905 W Main St, this cozy little pizzeria offers a warm welcome to every guest who steps through its doors. It's not just the aroma of freshly baked dough that captivates the senses, but also the promise of something special happening inside.

The menu at Uncle Vait’s is exactly what one might expect from a place that knows its strengths. It leans heavily into classic and comforting flavors. The pizza, the star attraction, brings smiles to every table. Thin crust or deep-dish; choices abound, making it a haven for enthusiasts of the humble pie. Toppings range from traditional pepperoni to adventurous options like artichoke hearts mixed with goat cheese. Each slice is a testament to the fine balance between sauce, cheese, and toppings.

Although pizza is their forte, the menu doesn’t shy away from offering other Italian delights. In particular, the garlic knots come highly recommended. Locals rave about the casual, feel-at-home atmosphere that the establishment exudes, making it a beloved staple where conversations flow as freely as the drinks.

Its location on the outskirts of Lexington makes for a short drive from the heart of town, but visitors will likely find it worth the effort. For some, it might become a regular pit-stop. Stopped here based on other reviews and it did not disappoint! Everyone was incredibly friendly. The pizza was delicious with a nice crispy crust (even on the pan pizza). Good beer selection. There were a LOT of regulars enjoying the fish special (the pieces were huge and looked good). The price was nice too!! We watched group sizes from 1 to 8 of all ages come here and get seated quickly. Highly recommended! We will definitely be coming back!

A Hidden gem of central Illinois right off of route 66. The food was fresh and flavourful, I highly recommend the steak skillet for breakfast! The owner was very friendly and generous, I will definitely be back soon!

I stopped by Uncle Vait's Pizza in Lexington for their Meatloaf Special. The meatloaf with brown gravy had great flavor, and was some of the best I've had in a restaurant. I'm definitely looking forward to having it again soon. The garlic bread was a good, sweet Italian bread. Something else I loved was that instead of getting a side of fries or coleslaw, I was able to choose a side of spaghetti with meat sauce! I also enjoyed the house-made ranch dressing. Courtney was a great server. I also got 2 pizzas to go. One was a thin crust taco pizza for my wife, with toppings on the side (toppings not pictured). The other was a deep dish pizza. Both pizzas were good. And for all this food, the price before tip was around $32, I believe. Incredible.

What a great place. Super friendly staff. One lady who wasn't even my server came up to me & just wanted to say hi & check on me. The food was awesome and I recommend this place 💯.

Great homey diner along Route 66. Top 10 onion rings for us... Family salad was very, very simple, but astonishingly fresh. I'm VERY picky about lettuce, and frankly a lot of restaurant salads use lettuce is old & limp that they taste like literal garbage to me. This lettuce was SO crispy!!! Pizzas come in two sizes - small and HUGE (16"). We had been hiking, so ordered the huge and it ended up being twice what we could eat. Delicious thin crust. Perfect cheese with awesome pull & well-balanced sauce. However, if you want crispy all the way to the middle, I suggest ordering a small. The large was perfect on yjd outside, bug middle was bit soft. By far, the best part of our meal was the service. The older lady who waited in us was super fast and welcoming without being intrusive. Drink refills on time. Both good & our bill came quickly. And just the right amount of charm. That lady was a master! Thd ptuces were another high point. Its not unusual for us to drop $60 on a dinner like this. Here, it was less than $50, which was the crowning jewel to a perfect autumn day at Mathiessen State Park.
